Ivanka Trump was booed in Berlin on Tuesday when she described her father Donald as a "tremendous champion of supporting families" and said she was still fine-tuning her role as first daughter and informal White House adviser.

"You are first daughter - German audience not familiar - what is your role - to whom are you represented?"

The first daughter spoke to NBC following her participation in a W-20 Summit panel on women's economic empowerment in Berlin at the direct invitation of Chancellor Angela Merkel, her first worldwide trip on behalf of the administration and a coming out of sorts.

Ivanka Trump speaks on stage next to Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland (L) and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Christine Lagarde (R) at the W20 conference on April 25, 2017 in Berlin, Germany.

Ivanka Trump was participating in a panel discussion on women's empowerment and entrepreneurship at the W-20, a summit of G-20 countries aimed at promoting women's workforce participation and equality.

The officials said that if the fund was managed by the World Bank, it would not be in Ivanka Trump's power to direct where its money was spent.

The panel asked a tough question to the 35-year-old businesswoman regarding her role as President Donald Trump's assistant.

"Well, certainly not the latter, and I am rather unfamiliar with this role as well, as it is quite new to me", replied Ivanka, a top adviser to her father.

The woman said once she was in the bathroom, Conley spun the woman around, unbuttoned her trousers and began to have sex with her. Investigators are in the preliminary stages of gathering statements and had not interviewed Conley as of early Tuesday afternoon.

After the audience reaction Meckel pressed further, saying: "Some attitudes toward women your father has publicly displayed. might leave one questioning whether he is such an empowerer for women.what's your comment on that?"

But she faced jeers from the audience when she called her father a "tremendous champion of supporting families and enabling them to thrive", with the moderator moving the discussion on amid the chorus of boos.

I grew up in a house where there were no barriers to what I could accomplish beyond my own perseverance and my own tenacity.

Before the event, President Trump tweeted Tuesday that he is "proud of @IvankaTrump for her leadership on these important issues".

She also said more needs to be done to help female entrepreneurs secure funding in the USA - "we are not where we need to be".

She stressed that these measures are needed in both developing and industrialized nations.

I've asked the White House for additional details but have not heard back.

Discussions are at a very early stage, and nearly no details of the plan have been agreed to, said the officials, speaking on the condition that their names would not be used.
