National Day of Prayer draws people to church

But no matter what your spirituality or religious belief, I believe we can all agree on one thing - the power of prayer. The National Day of Prayer Task Force, of Colorado Springs, predicts 45,000 to 50,000 National Day of Prayer events across the United States May 4.

National Day of Prayer in Washington, D.C. will be observed during prime time in 2017. Pastors Woody Rimes of First Baptist Church, McComb, and Brandon Lynch of East Union Baptist Church, Magnolia, will lead the audience in prayer.

From noon to about 1 p.m., participants prayed for wisdom, for leaders to make the right decisions, for people who are hurting and for God to draw his people together through his spirit. "That's what we pray about in the name of Jesus, that he would bring us together to bring all of our unique talents and differences and everything to work together for him".
