Argentina are expected to confirm Jorge Sampaoli as their new coach within days after Sevilla agreed to part ways with the former Chile boss. Documents that must be signed by both parties next Thursday, June 1st.

Sampaoli had said that he wanted to coach his country's national team after leading Sevilla to a fourth-place finish in Spain.

"All parties are satisfied with the agreement reached".

Sevilla president Jose Castro reiterated on Thursday that his club would not accept a reduction in the release clause.

The Andalusian club, however, refused to allow the 57-year-old to leave unless the Argentine FA made a £1.3m payment to trigger his release clause at La Bombonera.

But after being linked with the Argentina post, it appears to have been a position the Santa Fe born coach could not turn down.
