The long expected watchOS 4, announced at Apple's developer conference in San Jose on Monday, adds a number of new watch faces, including one that integrates Siri functionality to provide personalised updates. An Apple Watch that has been updated to the latest version of the operating system can be connected to compatible gym equipment.
Chief among the new features are a trove of new watch faces, with the most intriguing one being the intelligent Siri one. The Siri Watch Face is a brand new watch face that works kind of like how Google cards work - automatically bringing up information that the watch thinks you need. First up is a Siri face, which taps into the AI's proactive smarts to display information relevant to your day, including weather, upcoming events, tickets, news, photo memories, activity tracking, and home control. It will also include updates to the Activity and Workout apps, new integrations for the Music app, as well as minor updates to the smartwatch's UI.
The music app was also revamped with the aim of delivering more data and music at a glance. For Activities, there is a little sparkle animations when the user compeltes an activity rings. With even more songs on the wrist, the effortless combination of Apple Watch paired with AirPods™ makes listening to music ideal for workouts or on the go. Multiple workouts can also now be chained sequentially into a single session.
If you use high-end gym equipment to burn your calories, two-way data exchange will keep your metrics in sync.
Jack Nicklaus on Tiger Woods' DUI arrest: 'He's struggling'
His police report, obtained and published by several media outlets, said Woods was "co-operative" and "confused". Woods, in a statement Monday night, blamed the incident on "an unexpected reaction to prescription medications".
Finally, Apple spent considerable time unveiling several more new watch faces with elaborate designs, including some featuring characters from Disney's Toy Story franchise. New complications include Now Playing and Apple News. There's also that trippy kaleidoscope watchface that will help you relive the 70's. As a celebration of diversity and inclusion, Apple is also offering a Pride Edition Woven Nylon in rainbow stripe. The developer preview on the other hand, will start shipping today itself. Apple is showing this off as a quick-access tool for appointments, Wallet tickets and more. Features are subject to change. The feature will be available in the fall. My Favorites Mix and My New Music Mix require an Apple Music® subscription.
